Programs Manager - Community Support

Established in 1994, Mungabareena Aboriginal Corporation (MAC) has grown to be a prominent local community-owned organisation that delivers a wide range of social and community services from several sites across the Ovens & Murray region.

was established by local Aboriginal Community members with the aim to have a healthy and proud community through motivation, education and cultural acknowledgement and giving a sense of belonging.


We are seeking a community services leader with cultural knowledge and experience to provide strategic leadership and funding stewardship to guide the Community Support Programs. A leader who understands and has foresight into service diversification to support and empower our community.

With extensive experience in contract/funding application and management, you will report to the General Manager and have three teams of direct reports. You will contribute positively to the multi-disciplinary Community Support Programs and engage and build external relationships with local stakeholders and agencies.

You will need to possess:
  • Qualifications in Community Services, Social Work (or relevant qualifications) are preferred and/or extensive community sector management experience
  • Knowledge and experience in developing and improving program’s objectives to advance Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander community support, health and justice
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, with established links to the local community
  • Extensive experience with tenders, contract negotiations or sourcing funds through successful submissions
  • A current Driver’s Licence, WWC and Police clearance
  • Excellent administration and computer skills
